I read his book The Right Stuff, it's a fantastic read about a real hero/pioneer.

Chuck Yeager wrote several autobiographical books about his life and career, but not that one. The Right Stuff was written by Tom Wolfe.
BTW, if you play close attention to the movie based on the book, Chuck Yeager has a cameo appearance as an old bartender at the Happy Bottom Riding Club, a bar just outside what became known as Edwards Air Force Base.

You are of course right......It's been a long time since I read that book, back in the early 80's. I didn't know about him playing the bartender, I have the DVD so I'll have to revisit it!

October 16, 1859 Abolitionist John Brown led a raid on Harpers Ferry, Virginia. The raid failed and he was tried for treason and hung onDecember 02, 1859. The incident became an important impetus for the Civil War.
