I saved a lot of my girls childhood things and you're right they do take up a lot of room. Oodles didn't last the distance though.
Here's one that lives on my desk, a Christmas angel my eldest did in grade 2.....she's 17 years old, the Angel that is.
You'll notice she's lost all of one arm and the hand of the other.

It's very nice. The loss of the arm doesn't matter. The memories connected to it are invaluable.

My mother saved a lot of her things from when she was a little girl. The oldest item I have of her's is a small Santa Claus Christmas tree ornament she got when she was about 2. That would have been about 1930.
They must have contained precious memories for her. I hope she shared them with you.
