Now, how about that! Before I dropped off to sleep last night, I was thinking about our strange weather here in the UK. Last weekend it was hot and sunny, then Monday evening onwards it turned wet cold and windy.
I intended to post about how weather patterns are changing. At one time, severe flooding was regarded as a once in 50 year event by insurers. I think this yardstick applied to areas at a low risk of flooding. Now it seems to be a biannual experience for some.

Are tornadoes becoming more frequent and more ferocious?

What's going on?

Can mankind do anything to alleviate things?

There you go. I posted my thoughts after all;)

After no rain to speak of since the snow melted, we had three days straight where it rained most of the day. I hope the rest of the week is better.
A nice little sunrise, this morning.

Well, today is an interesting mix of dampness from yesterday's rain and cloud and occasional sunshine. Mostly cloud however.

We had beautiful sunny weather until now, with temperatures up to 24° C, and our usual wind. But now dark clouds are rising in the West. In the evening, we're supposed to get rain and perhaps thunderstorms.

I think summer is finally here. It's 85 and partly sunny. It's time to put the winter clothes away for a few months.

That's just what the weather gremlins want. The last blast of winter will come just after you pack your winter gear away. A few years ago, we had snow in June.

It's always safe to put our winter clothes up after Memorial Day. :) anytime before that is fair game for winter.

Unfortunately it's bloomin raining here Richard. I'm in my gazebo and watching hubby sleeping. Hard day for some I suppose.

It doesn't look good here, too. Tomorrow rain is expected, and it will be that way until Sunday. :-(

At the moment dark clouds are gathering. It will start raining today.
Edit: It IS raining.

79° F, a blustery day but not nearly as bad as yesterday.

The speed limit is 45 mph and the sand is outrunning the cars.

Yesterday's sand storm caused road closures on both highways and the two main roads that parallel them due to accidents. Roads were closed for over 4 hours.

It looks like we have another beautiful sunset coming.

Unfortunately we have rain in the forecast tonight. Currently it's 17°C under a partly cloudy sky.

So the old adage of a red sky at night, shepherds' delight doesn't hold true? ;)
