What's new

Weather

In my part of Austria, it would mean the opposite. No delight.

I should quote the adage in full ....

"Red sky at night - shepherds' delight
Red sky in the morning - shepherds' warning."

It's interesting how there could be opposites across the world. :)

Mostly clouds, rain, ... are coming from the West here. In former times, people noticed that when there was a beautiful red sunset (West), rain was occurring.
You also can watch here, that the distant hills and mountains to the West are clearly visible and seem to be near, when bad weather conditions are coming.

What I forgot to mention: we're having a different rhyme: Abendrot bringt Wind und Kot. Which tells in essentials: red sunset brings wind and rain.

It's unseasonably cool. However, the laburnum across the street is in flower now.

So, there are encouraging signs of a late spring. :)

I've heard yesterday, that this year's May is colder than usual in Austria, too. It will stay cool the next two days.

But we're lucky here in Northern Burgenland. I also read today that in some parts of Austria the people are preparing for floodings, because of the continuing rain.

Well, the cold spell is almost over here. 35° C winds at 30 kph, pure sunny sky all day and into the night (my thanks to Ray and Dave Davies for that :))

Stay safe Possum! It's a beautiful day here in southern England. A day spent in my garden and mainly reading in my patio/Gazebo is definitely on the cards!!! My holiday is near an end - sigh! Back to school on Monday and all my mental students! Lol. (They aren't really mental but just seem like it at times!)
