What's new

Weather

After more than a week with clouds and rain, today I was woken up by sunlight. It will be warmer than the last days, today, with temperatures up to 24° C compared to 13° - 18° C before. :-)

I found this picture in today's Times:

There were pictures of the flooding in Prague on the news yesterday. I see that Dresden is now under threat as the waters receded from Prague.

In most parts of Austria, the water levels go back to normal slowly. Along the Danube, there's only Hainburg still preparing for floodings. It's been said that the water masses will reach Bratislava this night.

The cloud cover is high, with breaks. There is a slight breeze and its cool. However, we expect things to warm up and the sun to burn through the clouds later on today :)

It seems to be like the weather here. In the morning, it was cloudy. Now the sun is shining,we're having 26° C.

Back to normal?? At 9:00 AM it is 28° C, on it's way up to 47°C for the day. Ok, maybe not entirely normal, we may see a record today. No clouds, a bit of haze (the fire is over 70% contained, but still there) and right now only 16 kph winds. Glad the heat held off long enough to knock down our little blaze. Burned a little over 32000 acres

Wonderful photos! I hope that's the end of it for you and everyone concerned.

Very dreary here today and quite cool! Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia

Enjoying the whales and sail boats going past though.

I can understand that, Dianne. Hearing an ambulance siren brings back memories for me too.

Thanks for posting those photos, Zstairlessone. There's a huge area that's been affected, lets hope the recovery process heals the pain of the losses.

I used the "see all" feature and the contrasts between images struck me.....

Eastern Ontario has been gloomy since Thursday. Cool, rainy. We've given up on Spring. Hoping Summer doesn't cheat us too. For the record, I've seen no signs of global warming this year.

Right now it's 15°C and overcast, with a chance of rain. These were the clouds, just before sunrise.

image-696966277.webp Edit: we had a short rain shower about an hour ago.
