What's new

What do you want as members from our forum?

Seriously, humor and jokes are fun for some ... even teasing turns some people on. For me, I review the forums to learn and gain insights. The one line comments ... just for humor and response ... literally just take up space and offer nothing in a learning sense. But, it seems the tolerance of this kind of stuff, just ruins the good stuff that could really be offered.
.

I am truely sorry you feel as though we joke a bit much ~ and we probably do sometimes. Forgive us.

I can be the worst at times.:o

But ~

I firmly believe that some of the more fun personalities here, is what keeps members around.

We do make you smile sometimes? Yes?

Smile? The fact my wife finally wants to touch a computer (the iPad) really makes me smile. I made her wait for the latest one. The technology in iPAD2 over iPAD makes me smile. The EZ use and hold (thinner and shape) better makes me smile... her too. The built in stand in the Smart Cover with on/off makes me smile... she got a blue one. That made her smile.

The socialization factor and the neat personalities... I'm not lonesome ... I think not. I do a lot of research on the internet and the cute stuff is soooooo useless to me.

I do want to you smile, though. We all want to have fun. But I'm for a whole lot less of "useless dribble".

You completely edited this! Thank you. It sounds much nicer.

You made this girl smile.:)

If I want humor there are lots of sites for that stuff. I know you mean well.
But ....

I get where you are coming from. No worries. I will try to respect that.

Now we're on the same page.

Just one more thing ... perhaps it is just me ... but profanity has no place at all, it doesn't communicate, just irritates. I would like to see the moderators and masters delete their nasties... just chop those paragraphs. Thanks in advance.

I think there should be signature size limit. Like a picture size limit and the number of lines of text limit. Maybe it's the way the forum is setup, but its seems like theres a lot of extra stuff.
The profiles on the sides take up a lot of space too.

MacRumors for instance offers a long list of threads in a quick read sense like 50 per page without having to click on next page, next page, oh so time consuming and actually frustrating.

You know, you are probably right......I can be the worst for this, that's just me, whether it is work, home, out socially or on a forum......life's just a ball wherever I am and I guess that doesn't suit some. I checked my posts for today, 11 offering answers, advice or a point of view and 5 which could probably be best described as mindless including some of those above this one. Maybe that's not a good percentage although if I have helped just one person each day then you know what, I am happy!

That said, I don't use profanity on the forums as I never know who might be reading. I try to be respectful to everyone I come into contact with here as well.

I also use the search button an awful lot to get the answers I need, in fact I think I have only asked two questions since I have been here, one never got a response......but that's OK.....my point is I see a gazillion threads asking the same question over and over again.....Flash? iTunes? Etc, etc. But I try to be respectful, especially to first timers....just look at how many people recently have started a thread about flash and I have directed them to iSwifter, I tested it, it works and I direct them to it.......I don't even use it unless someone has a problem with it whereupon I will do a bit of research. Are all these badly researched threads worse than my (admittedly poor and childish) humour, I don't know?

I personally think this is the best forum I have ever used, a good mix of advice, debate and humour, both from us the patrons and those that moderate us and we are all different, different views, different knowledge, different ways of doing things. So here is the thing, if I'm out of place I'm happy to pick up my ball and go and play somewhere else, life's too short for anything else but I am what I am and as such I'm not going to change. If I go then no one is going to miss me, no one has even met me......Ill think on this while I'm browsing the threads.

It already does. Down at the bottom the button that says "subscribed". That has all of the threads you have replied to.

No it doesn't. I have to subscribe to threads to see them in there.

Causing trouble again, Grayson?:D

My Internet dropped out and it posted the same thing three times! :) your a great moderator because you even remember everyone's name!

Thread or post flagging

If you subscribe to a lot of threads, like I do, it would be nice if there was also a flagging option, so you can mark threads for attention latter. Sometimes I'd like to contribute, but either don't have time right then, or am out and about away from the resource I'd like to reference.

When I'm on my computer it isn't really a problem, I can Evernote the URL. When using the iPad Forums app that's a several step process. A simple thread flagging option would be better than either solution.
