Actually, they're native wild columbines, Aquilegia canadensis.
Yes, they do like it, but probably because it's a long trumpet with lots of sweet nectar. Most of our flowers are native hummer plants, including coral honeysuckle, trumpet creeper, cardinal flower, prairie blazingstar (Liatris sp.), and wild bergamot (a Monarda, related to bee balm). We also plant several species of annual Salvia for the hummingbirds.

Yes...now I see that they are indeed Columbines! Wow--mine are barely budding at this point. Yours are in full bloom--they look great. I have purple and pink ones. I'd like to get some other colors as well. Just love Columbines...they are so pretty and seems to grow well anywhere you put it.
I haven't ventured into our Nursery yet...but I am interested in some of the honeysuckle and Salvia for our garden. I just have to see how much room it takes, because the real estate isn't as big as I wished it was.
