What's new

What I see in my backyard...

No geese in Australia?
Besides the usual fat goose one buys for Christmas, well a couple of drumsticks at the market anyway:), we have wild geese down our way called Cape Barren geese. Not sure how good they are to eat.

Lol.....I'll keep an eye out for them!! ;)

But seriously how on earth did that kangaroo get to Oklahoma? It's kinda sad thinking he may be the only one out there, especially seeing how they do live in mobs. :(

I know what you mean. I remember some years ago in Lucerne Switzerland there was a small pond by a very old bridge that had a solitary Aussie black swan. All by itself it just seemed such a lonely creature so far from home.

Oh bugger! Now that's so sad too!

And that they're monogamous also.... :(

They should both be home where they belong!!

Perhaps it was a felonious swan, sentenced to transportation?

Sure it wasn't a spy looking for secret information? Looks pretty squirrelly to me

I went for a walk at my University and see that the Bell Tower they are building is almost complete. It will be beautiful when it's done. It's scheduled to be complete this Fall with a student/alumni grand ceremony to be held along with it.

What a beautiful structure to build!

I thought they had gone the way of the dinosaur......most schools etc here now have audio of their bells!

That will be so nice to hear a real bell ringing!

That will make your Uni grounds even more attractive. I remember your other pics. showing an interesting and peaceful place to stroll around in, including I think a small lake.

They are quite popular here in the States. A lot of University have them. We were very lucky to have a couple donate the funds for it. They felt that it was important for us to have a Bell Tower at Oakland. We are all quite excited for it! ;)

It is a very beautiful University and so close to my house. I am very fortunate to be able to walk the campus daily and see all the new things popping up! :)

That's our mascot the Oakland Grizzly. It does look like he's charging at it! Next time I will take a pic of his front side! :)

I'll have to ask my girls if they have Bell towers in the unis they go to. 1 just may as it is quite an old established uni and has some beautiful old buildings.

How wonderful that those people donated the money for it.....that's such a great thing to do and it will be standing for generations to come!
A very nice way to leave a mark on this world!
