What I see in my backyard...

This pine cone has been sitting on our patio table all summer. It opens and closes. I am wondering if it has anything to do with how much moisture is in the air.

Wow that's really neat!

Pretty cool, eh? I thought that my husband was playing a trick on me and replacing it with an open cone at night...and he thought the same for me!

Not your husband but maybe a squirrel. They like to mess with humans.

Yes, we teach them all sorts of tricks at the Scifan Squirrel Training Academy.;)

This was at Home Hardware. Now it's in my backyard on the patio. I don't have a green thumb but HH more than compensates.

That's really pretty, AA. I like the color combo. Will it be too cold for it to stay out. Its been dropping in the 40's the last 2 nights here.

Looks like there are pepper plants in your potted arrangement.

They are pepper plants and edible too. I sense a tasty tray of fresh nachos with all the fixings.

It's cooling north of the frontier but it's a hearty bunch I think. Overcast tonight. If there's a frost warning I'll move it inside.

It's a bit subdued but there's cabbage in there too. Too dark to get a pick of that now.
