What's new

What is it?

Im trying to look around the obvious. It's a stop button. However, is the button on a cable mounted "Stop Go" type control?

The button is mounted on a vertical pole and sends a signal to someone.

Is it a remote control operated by a person such as a safety supervisor? The control sends a warning to the operative of the equipment in use telling the operative to stop the equipment, such as a hoist, for safety or positioning of a load.

The general public operates the button, sending a signal to an employee.

OK, it's a stop control at a point where the public crosses an area used by operatives as a roadway or path for moving loads, such as pallets of stock. Operatives are requested to stop operations so that the public may pass in safety?

Not that either. Here's another photo.

Thanks, Scifan. Let's go to my challenge.

What is this a part of?
What is the item known as?
With whom or what is it associated?

Is the emblem art or is it functional, like a sign?

The emblem is art. It is based upon a very famous trademark which was to be seen worldwide especially in the 1950s and 1960s

My two answers contain very useful clues.
