Where in the world?-discussions

My concern is the use of hyperlinks. I thought links to external websites was not allowed in forums. Would a work around be to refer to the name of the site,or the name of the author or photographer?

I will be ready to catch that spanner!

I've just read the rules. They are clear and fair. Many thanks to all who have been working on the rework.

According to Gabriel, anything from Wikipedia can be used with a hyperlink credit, including photos.

Noted, Scifan. Perhaps the underlying principle is that a link to a trustworthy source is kosher. However, that aside, I prefer to name the website in a sentence such as "you can Google so and so site."

Your pictures look familiar enough for me to think I have walked there often, so I think I know where (well, one of two) but not what!

This challenge in the new where in the world thread is proving to be the hardest ever,I hope it doesn't scare away the newcomers.

Shouldn't worry too much. It's early days, and people will join in eventually.

If we use a photo from Wikipedia in a challenge,is it sufficient to state that the photo came from Wikipedia?Adding a hyperlink credit would enable anyone to solve the challenge merely by clicking on the link.
In regards to google street view photos, can we use them as long as we give credit to google street view?
