Where in the World

It's not Apetlon, it's somewhere near me.
Apetlon has ~ 1800 inhabitants. It's a village. :-)

All I can say at the mo is that this the place where new year celebrations were held... But does it not sound a bit odd? Auf wiedersehen means 'goodbye', and then a 2014, maybe it has some meaning to Austrians. After all, I don't know that language. :)
This photo was taken in summer last year. "Goodbye 2014" means something like "See you again next year" in this case. The word that you didn't mention in your post, that is also there, is more important than "Goodbye".

Next clue: when you look at my threads, you'll find two of the pictures and the location.

I have no idea about what Anatevka means because web searches just takes me up to 'Fiddler on the Roof', don't know if it has something to do with it.

To make it easier: look at the threads I started in English. They are just a few. The subject of one of my threads should even "tell" you that you'll find the location there.

What is shown in the picture? Where is it located? Give any 2 of its uses (basic one will be accepted). What ailment does it help in healing?

Here is a clue to something related :

I'm present on your dinner table,
Also in the deep blue sea,
Mix an acid and a base,
Something you get is me.

Born from water,
Often helped by the Sun,
I'm of several types,
But all of them are one.

Try not to use a Google Search for deciphering the answer... ;) good luck!
