What's new

Where in the World?

The property is now called Craigdarroch Castle. The coal baron in your clue is Robert Dunsmuir of British Columbia.

He had the house built as a family home in the 1890s as a family residence.

Dunsmuir is listed as Scottish Canadian, coal and railway tycoon and, provincial politician in British Columbia.

Correct,Admiral.Your turn now.

The thread has been quiet for a long time. I do have a challenge waiting to go. It should have a wide appeal IMHO

My questions are: -

1. Where am I?
2. What is the red ball used for?
3. What is the name of the building with the mirrored top?
4. Where is the covered walk?

If the answer isn't provided within 60 minutes, I will reveal a little more of 1 photo.

BTW I took all of the photographs

Are we looking at 3 different locations? Each challenge is only supposed to have one location.
Your first location is the time ball at Greenwich observatory. It is dropped every day at 1pm to signal the correct time.

Your first location is the time ball at Greenwich observatory.I won't give the answers to the other two locations.

We are definitely in the same location. Not in 1 building.

Your answer is correct, so far.

The third picture is one of the two covered walkways connecting with the Queen's House at Greenwich.

We need another clue to the building with the mirrored top.

That is the Harrison Planetarium, so in answer to the question, I would say you are at the Greenwich Observatory.

The rest of the answers have been supplied already, I notice.
