What's new

Will you update your OS day of release or wait? Why?

I get home from work at 7:30 tomorrow morning, I'll probably update one of my iPads then and see how it goes.

I get home at 7:30 in the evening tomorrow, so I won't be able to do mine until maybe Thursday! So hope to see what y'all feel and how it went!

If the update comes to my phone while I'm at work, I will go for it. However, on the iPad I will wait until I get home. I can't afford for the iPad to get foobared while at work.

Foobared? I did some checking and found the answer but can't post in on this forum.;)

Best not to, for sure. However, we did some checking a whole back and figured that some acronyms that have entered the language are OK for use on the forum, even though their original meaning was quite offensive. So long as no-one ever spells it out, all's good.

Sent from my iPhone using iPF

Probably not on my iPhone 4. I am still miffed turn by turn won't be suported and I don't want to lose the jailbreak. I may do it on my iPad though

I still have to update iTunes and do another backup, probably won't get to it until Friday. Can't wait to see how the update process goes on here!

I have like the slowest Internet connection in the world, so it'll take a long time for the downloads. If only I had faster WiFi...
Also, do you have the backups on your iTunes or your iCloud? I had it on iCloud, but switched it back over to iTunes because it would be more practical, and would take days to restore from iCloud, although the iCloud is cool, and might be useful if the computer goes down/is stolen/lost.

I actually kept things backed up on my PC. I never used the cloud at this point. Maybe when get a new laptop I will try it. It took me about 20 minutes to back up my iPad and 10 minutes for my iPod. The iTunes update was roughly 15.

Files the size of that iTunes update usually take about 30 minutes do download on my connection... :(

I have "unjailbroken" my iPad 2 in anticipation of the new iOS. Thanks to the instruction that many have provided here, I had absolutely no problem restoring to factory settings! I think jailbreaking had many advantages over a stock iPad and look forward to it again after the update. So, yes...I'm updating as soon as it comes out!!

(I just found out on another thread that the jailbreak for iPad 2 won't be available for awhile. I'm patiently waiting...lol)

When you restored the jailbroken iPad to factory settings, someone told me the restoration process actually leaves a digital marker behind and "some" apps may not perform normally.

Complete lies. They are entirely misinformed.
