Big Business - game discussion

That was me, and I have had mixed results; Sometimes a zero for the restart, sometimes a cayy over; just don't get it. Have got a fair bit of time waiting around hospital at the moment, and agree no way to get to 400. Has anyone managed to get the White House yet? Wonder what the population requirement to place it; that may be a real shocker if it turns out to be huge.

The white house won't need a population requirement, its an entertainment facility, it only needs electricity...

Hm, think this is the end of the line for me.

The White House is simply impossible.
8 days for it, with a "shot" every 8 hours. In theory that should entail 24 tries for the bells, but in reality it is maximum 23 (noone can hit that timely every time + that would require to start right on the clock).

To reach 70 bells, assuming there will be only 2 and 5 bell shots, it will take 8 times a 5 bell + 15 times a 2 bell.
A lot of calculations has already been made on how difficult / impossible it is to get a 5 bell present, so that speaks for itself.

All this for a little white pixel-thingy - which is not better than many other entertainment in the quests. Why?

I am a competetive person, but this is simply pushing me over the edge. What is there to prove now?

I can feel that interest has gone - I did not even use all energy before going to bed last night. I guess I am out, and my addiction is gone.

Hello there,

I have to stand, clap and totally agree with your sentiments & calculations. After all, what is the point of creating and tweaking a game (a money-making concern) when non "real money" goals are simply unattainable within a normal person's realm of existence.

I hope GI reads our feedback within this little forum. Don't destroy an addictive (time-consuming) game by putting targets way above attainability. The only way to get more newbie players is to make every challenge attainable albeit with a bit of effort. It has gone too far..

Also losing interest...but they did get about $80 of my own real bucks. Silly me!!!

I think I finally figured out something. We all think GI developers are simply stupid. Well, they are, generally speaking, but we have underestimated their cynicism.

Do you remember that you can now buy a premium building and place it in your inventory instead of starting building it right away? And then bypass the construction phase and just place it on your map? Guys, this is not a nice touch or a glitch, this is all planned in advance. This feature will probably allow us to buy all their little crappy shops regardless of the pop requirement. You buy a shop, place it in your inventory, place one farm in your inventory then place the shop on the map. The newly purchased shop placed in your inventory is treated by the game as a part of your existing collection of other buildings which you can swap freely. Clever, eh?
They know we are mad but they think we will get over it after a while, bite the bullet and adjust to the New World Order which requires to buy even more stuff than before. You are unable to buy ranches but able to buy tea shops so there you go, attaboy.

BB just blogged that they have decreased the amount of population req. for building new factories etc.

Not sure it works for me as I still need 1 million plus of population to built a new factory...:(

It worked fine before the 4th of July update...

It has worked, but nowhere near where it was. Originally I needed 225,000 for next building. This changed to 742,000 with July 4th update. It's now 637,000 so not really enough to make a difference!

Just saw the new changes BB has made but happiness requirement is still quite high and they say that have increased the happiness in the entertainment buildings but I can't see any change there so far.

Nothing to shout about really.

So my population decreased from 1.1 mil to 846,,000. Oh yeah, that makes me want to build more facilities. So laughable. They think they are doing us a favor? Put it back to where it was before the update. I will continue playing but not so addicted as before and will not be buying credits anymore. I don't mind supporting a game but when you can no longer progress in the game then I say what's the point of playing? I'm not ready to give it up yet but I do see the end coming.

Yup concur, like I had been posting, GI step so far out of bounds that it actually help curb the addiction. They are not very good at business. Pun intended, not that this game is big

I took an old receipt typed up my issue in "other" and my rep offered a refund for all my GI purchases. I told them about the happiness and forcing us to buy buildings now and the inability to use old ones if you want anything new. I used the " bait and switch" wording and told them the update was a scam to those who spent real Money or had things in storage etc. He categorized it as lost items I think on our chat.

Good on you mate - GI really have to learn!

To date, I've been spending money on the game to support it - but no longer... I want to spend to speed thing up, because I lose patience; not out of desperation because the goals are impossible.

Hahaha, I needed 1.43 mil, now I need "only" 1.12 mil. What a difference, where is my credit card, need to buy 200 taverns ASAP. Oh, and a big power plant or two to run the taverns. Oh wait I don't have so much land. The map is too small.

Hi all

I need 3 turbines if anyone has any to gift today?
Can return with paid gifts if required.

Thanks

I'm thinking everyone gets one chance to to give out a set of turbines. I did my set long ago and have not seen it come back. But I still get one once and a while. Maybe you get them once just after building the port or reaching a certain level. Either way my advice to you is to get more friends in hopes you land someone who will get their turn to send them out. This cannon thingy give out 5 friend request items. Used them to quickly add more friends

The tactic we all had was to have as many factories operational as possible. The storage worked well to allow us to swap out factories so we could vary the production. However, the key thing was the more operational factories the better. This tactic resulted in a desire to have population buildings. The Eiffel Tower fully upgraded is 12,000 HP and a lot of the competition buildings were 4,000+ HP, so were a real incentive.

Since the upgrade you now need to achieve significantly high HP to buy the next factory (actually its now unattainable for a high number of multiple factories), I am at an advantage as I have 38 factories in storage, and for new players they will never get anywhere near this number of factories. When new factories like the ice cream shop become available who in there right mind would buy one of them now? So where do I go from here? Why would I ever bother working really hard on the competition buildings or spending credits on those lucrative HP buildings? I now need 1.6 million HP and have 192k HP, and that is after 9 months of play..so spending 60 credits on a pub for 4,600HP is just simply pointless. I loved the game but now I'm not sure what I am playing for....

Why were GI compelled to make the change? I, like many others, have written to iTunes but drew a blank on getting my money back. One thing will become really clear to GI in a couple of months, as they will not be making as much money as they were....gamers lose, GI lose. Just don't make sense....

Oh well! Wishing all my BB buddies the best....
