Beautiful dogs and I love the aquarium. I have a HUGE plecostomus (sp?) that would love it. Pix to follow when I get home from work.

Thanks for the replies...........

Fish die quick?
Not in my tank.....most of my fish are 3+ years old and I even have (2) Red hook silver dollars <about 10" in diameter> that are over 10 years old.
The key is good filtration, taking care of the tank, and not over-feeding.

Fish include Angels, Silver dollars, black tetras, Pictus cats, Bala sharks, Plecostomus, Cory's, etc.

btw - the Amethyst in the center weighs in at over 60Lbs.

I gave our cat a bath yesterday and groomed her to be rid of her winter coat.

British Shorthairs have such thick coats.

Well my daughters had an idea what to do with it all. I thought it gorgeous......although a little weird!

That's brilliant, make additional pets out of the cast offs of your current pets....! They do look cute together.

Aww--that's perfect! Your daughters were very clever to do that with the shed of hair! Looks like your cat loves it, leelai!

I saw a TV program about a woman who makes yarn out of her dogs' hair and she sells scarves and other things made out of it ,

You know I've often thought about this and thought it possible but it just creeps me out too much! ;)

The cat is thinking what is that why does it look like me and smell like me why am I being replaced.
Plus my cat hates baths and cleans itself although way too fat and actually misses a part of itself so we kind of like put some water on it.

I think you may be right here.....the funny thing is we have this pseudo cat sitting on our coffee table and Mischka likes to sit next to it.

I think she thinks she's found a new friend. ;)

She also doesn't like cleaning herself much at all and does not dig holes for her business......quite an unusual cat in that way....hence the need to bathe her!

She hates her baths also.....we clip her nails first just to be safe! ;)

I did a Google search for "scarves from dog hair" out of curiosity and came across several small businesses that sell products from cat and dog hair including one on Etsy. They look like really nice products, at least in the pictures. Some of them are quite expensive.

Well what do you know....that's amazing.

I guess they would be expensive as you would have to wait a long time to have enough to knit a scarf. I'm wondering how they would feel. Our cat has the most luxurious soft fur but I can't help thinking a scarf would be somehow itchy.

I'm all for recycling but don't think I would go this route. ;)

But would you think twice if you had a pet sheep?

It's all about scale! (Well it is if you have a snake.......).

I did have a sheep once Gab! Well a lamb!

Someone asked my dad if he wanted some lamb.....he wasn't expecting the live variety. ;)

But why not? It's similar to using wool. :)
