Hi Steve, and welcome from one oldie to another ;)

Take a look at the Office Apps Comparison thread. The discussion on the Pages app is useful.

I use my iPad 2 mainly for web browsing, reading e-books, chatting via Skype and yahoo, etc. Recently gave up gaming on it, but still enjoying with, I'm loving it :)

I use my iPad for:
E-books
Skype
YouTube
Gmail
iCloud
And that's about it. And I don't play games I find them a real waste of time and boring.

I use mine for email, web surfing, photograph editing, and e reading. I have numbers and pages on it and have used these some. I thought I would use it for music composition and I got some apps for that but so far I haven't done that much. Now that I have a Mac, I don't have to many problems offloading my pictures. But it would be nice to be able to read and write to an SD card. Anyone know if Flash will ever be possible on an iPad?

Absurd that there's no native multitouch support for iPad 1 users on iOS 5. this wasn't even on my radar when I updated. I used them all the time. It's frustrating as I'd really prefer not to jailbreak my iPad

Can you explain what you mean by "no native multitouch"?

I use my iPad 2. For movies when on plane, emails, eBay , sky news, reading the paper.... Via the sun app. Angry birds a must and jungle run is wicked.
I use quick office pro and have easily created my time sheet and other docs which I email via my iPhone 4s hotspot.
I am chief engineer and work as a fire detection specialist , most equipment manufacturers have downloads of manuals that I open in Ibooks and my library would fill 2 boxes jf in paper lol
I bought a jaguar x type yesterday and found the manual missing.... Np in 2 mins was reading it in iBooks .
To the moaners .... Seriously would you walk into a library and expect the book to come to you!!!!! Open your mind and explore.
I come from a time when we thought playing pong bouncing a white dot from side to side was amazing lol.
At work we use HTC devices and they give me suicidal tendencies ...... Apple have created amazing devices so please don't knock em because your device dosn't kiss your butt.

I'm sure. Flash is an anagram of Do-Do!

I am a full time college student, so I use mine for most of my assignments. Not only that I FaceTime with a lot of my fellow Marines, play video games, twitter, and Facebook. So yea, I guess you can say I actually put mine to use haha 32g 3G/wifi
