Official iPad2 Jailbreak Chat Thread

So i have an iPad 2 wifi 32gb. I had it jailbroken on 4.3.3 and loved all the tweaks and customization. I decided to update to iOS 5 a few weeks ago and i kinda regret it. Where would i go to know if the jailbreak for ios 5 on ipad 2 has been released? I used to search it on google news in 2008-2010 when i was jailbreaking my ipod touch 2g but now all i see are tethered jailbreaks for other devices. I also see alot of links and references to ghostapp (would provide link but this is my first post) which i dont trust because they want me to pay to jailbreak which i refuse to do.

There is no jail break for the iPad2, paid or not. You have come to the right place for news, it's just that there is none yet. If you keep reading the stickies, you'll see any news as soon as it comes out.

Unfortunately, what we can't tell you is when. All we can offer is continued reassurances and patience. Oh, and you are not alone, so hang in there!

Newbie here... I have a new iPad 2 with version 4.3.2. is there a way to upgrade my iPad to 4.3.3? I have downloaded ipsw 4.3.3 for iPad2 but itunes reject the upgrading. I follow instructions in some tutorials for downgrading version ios5 to 4.3.3 i just presume it might work. I press shift+restore and clicked the 4.3.3 version in itunes. after extracting the 4.3.3, upgrading failed. iOS version if i restore in itunes is already ios 5.0.1... is there another way?

If you do not have the 4.3.3 blobs saved, there is no way you can upgrade to 4.3.3.

I havent heard of this before, I thought it was only compatible with the 4.3.3 ipads!?!?!

I'm with you, Rambler. Cause JailbreakMe's site states specifically that it works on the iPad2 with iOS 4.3.3 only.

Yeah, it'll work on the iPad1 running 4.3 through 4.3.3, but NOT the iPad2.

So, please, don't try to run it on an iPad2 with 4.3. If the developer's own site states that's not the version to use ... that's the info I would go with. Besides, I think the actual JailBreakMe web site will tell you if the jail break can be applied to your particular iPad (and version).

I'm not arguing with anyone about which version jailbreakme is designed for. I'm saying that I have been running that jailbreak on 4.3 since it was officially released with no problem whatsoever. The only reason I mentioned it was because there is no way for someone to upgrade from 4.3 to 4.3.3 without the shsh blobs and this is an option if they want to try it. Just FYI the iPad I own is the 32gb wifi only.

Hi i have recently bought and iPad 2 and straight away downloaded iOS 5.0.1 but now want to jailbreak it!!! Is there anyway possible or have I not got any chance of doing it?
