A hobby and the fact that they want the ability to run any type of app w/o the need of apples approval.
By app I mean home brew apps that can improve the iDevice functionality

Yeah, but I get all of that too without learning assembler and spending sleepless nights coding!

Well someone has to do it lol but it's not so much learning something new more like a way for them to hone their skills in a manner thats both challenging and rewarding.

If you go on jailbreakme.com on the PC it says in the tab bar "No, seriously" then you see the rest of the stuff about "Its been far too long" I have no idea what he's working on but obviously he's working on something

So maybe if you were on 4.0.1 you could jailbreak.........
If the site even knows it's an iPad 2.
But 4.0.1 was way before iPad 2.
