A group forms a bid committee and hosts bid parties and sells pre-supporting memberships in the years leading up to the site selection vote. During the site selection voting, the members of the current Worldcon vote on which of the bids on the ballot they feel should be the host of the next Worldcon.

I must get the attention of the local SciFi Society in Ottawa and the tourism and convention board to see if there's interest.

Anyone getting excited about the new Abrams series Revolution?

As a "Fringe" devotee I'm hoping he gives viewers a payoff after every couple of episodes.
"Lost" failed that way and eventually "lost" me as a viewer.

I like the show concept of Earth mysteriously going dark and society reverting to a simpler time.

Reminds me of a show called "Changes" that was on British television when I was a kid. Seems to me the central theme was all machinery shut down, and people regressed to barbarism.
