I was looking through my photos last night, trying to get rid of the worst ones (I have way too many on my iPad) and rediscovered these.

Czevski, these are wonderful finds!!!
And all in the dragonfly / butterfly / moth mode we seem to be in just now:-) Especially love the little green-yellow one on the wet gravel--he's so beautiful, with a great feeling for colour!

Can you ID any of them? They are not familiar to me but I'm so ignorant, that doesn't mean anything at all! My app doesn't cover N.America.

Wow, these are great pictures!

The Archangel

Beautiful pictures that you "rediscovered" while going thru your collection! I see a few Monarchs in that bunch as well, which is magnificent. I think we need to start naming a few of these birds, bugs and butterflies fairly soon! I have my reader's digest North American Book out which covers creatures, will have to take a look at it and get started!

Strange that just after deciding to photo more moths, I found this one lying in the house. The lovely pale yellow certainly isn't beige & boring! But haven't found it's name yet.

(NB the photo won't upload. Will try again later)

And here is one of 460 (yes!) photos I took today from our window hide, watching what I thought at first was a rabbit on the roof! The pigeon was sitting there for half an hour so I got quite tired, standing waiting for a "special" shot. This is the one I hoped would happen...:-)

Oh my gosh, Stranding...the pigeo looks like it is inhaling a bunch of air to fill up like a balloon!!

That's a great picture you captured!! it's easy to get up to 400+ pics on a camera isn't it? :)

Yes, VERY easy!!:-) You wouldn't dream of doing that with a film camera would you?

Thought he might start to sing--I was trying to think what he might come up with. But it's late here & my brain is already asleep:-)

While I was snapping him, the male blackbird came back for another bath. I think he was getting ready for a night out at the disco.

Wow...the clarity of your blackbird is incredible! You can see the water drops coming off his feathers!! Great shot, Stranding!! Really love the pics you have recently posted.

I have a few plus a video that I am going to upload soon. Just haven't had the time yet!! :)

Looking forward to them!

I wanted to start this thread to share the wonderful things I see in my backyard. Just this morning, I saw a deer and it's fawn walking across our backyard. I tried taking a picture, but they nestled behind our pine tree to nap. The fawn still was so young with its white spots. So cute!!

Here are some pics of what we see here...some were taken last Fall.

I really love where we live. Hope to take some pics of some of the other animals that cruise thru our backyard soon!! :)

Well you have just answered a question I was going to ask, I am making some little baby deer die cuts and wondered if the spots were white or cream, some look cream in photos some look white, but from your post here they are white..so now I can finish making them Thanks :)

Lol it looks like its yawning XD

I saw a Monarch butterfly in my backyard this morning. I didn't have my camera handy, so I hope I'll see it again when I'm prepared for it.

We get lots of monarchs in our yard, sometimes I mistake them for bees (because they're little tiny monarchs) and freak out because I have a serious bee phobia because when I was little I got stung by 6 hornets at the same time and another time when I was little I was playing and I got stung by 5 of them on the back at the same time, lol. But monarchs are a common visitor, sometimes we get huge ones, and those ones are interesting to watch.
