What's new

What I see in my backyard...

They had just about everything.....it went on for quite some time!

That's a great show, hope the weather wasn't too cold for the spectators there. It's freezing here, Gabe. We are predicting snow tomorrow! Can you believe it! :(

It's cold out but not that cold.......we have plenty of amazing firework shows around here for Guy Fawkes night.

Is this only tonight or all weekend? The weather seems to be holding out for all of you there. The wind is picking up here's which makes it feel more cold.

Guy Fawkes night is always the 5th November so it'll run until Monday night now.

White, and lots of it!:(

Oh that sounds wonderful, Gabe...though good the fireworks is early in the evening and not later at night before going to sleep!

Love that photo Sci!

Gab....also love your fireworks ......can anyone buy them over there? They're banned here, too many kids blowing their fingers off....although there are ways of getting them if you know the right people! ;)

In the UK, fireworks are only available to the general public for November 5th, when we celebrate the attempt to get rid of our politicians. I suspect the politicians think we are celebrating the failure of the attempt, but a common cry for help in the UK is "Guy Fawkes. Where are you when we need you?" OK. Enough skimming the edge of the politics rule.

They are available year round in Canada. Some of them wouldn't be out of place in a missile silo.

We like our fireworks to make a statement.

I wish we still had them here....I still have a few small ones which I'll keep until New Years Eve.

We don't even have a Guy Fawkes night any more.....I remember it as a kid, so long ago now!

I like them, Gabriel. We heard quite a few going off around us. I think there will be lots more going off, and numerous bonfires tonight.

Yes, I accidentally bought the massive display fireworks a few years back, we combined the event with a BBQ and too much alcohol, almost burnt the entire neighbourhood down......the locals weren't too impressed but the guests and kids thought it was amazing!

I stayed in a B&B for a period in Hounslow whilst working at Heathrow a few years back.....the locals used to set fireworks off all year round and for most of the night.....I had to move out in the end as I couldn't get any sleep at all!

I could see why, you'd think they would go to sleep also! That's like here, after 4th of July, we get the stray firecrackers go off--which becomes a bit annoying!

This made me laugh..thinking back a few years ago our neighbor did the same with fireworks at a party. Only it was a windy day and the fireworks flew back and onto their deck. I never saw so many people exit so fast. Scary than, but now we get a laugh! :)
