I tried it many times. It provides the option to "Fix Recovery" and I clicked on it but it still did not work. Am I missing something? After using "Fix Recovery" I cannot use the 1-button reboot. When I use the 2-button reboot I stick on the Apple logo. So, I either have, on the iPad 2, the apple logo, the iTunes prompt or the totally blank iPad 2 screen which makes iTunes on my PC encourage me to restore (detects an iPad in recovery mode). Any more suggestions will be appreciated. I'll try anything.
details about your problem is needed for the correct sollution

but dont worry,
-if you have your shsh blobs for 4.3.3 saved, you still can restore without the need to upgrade into 4.3.5, do it only if you dont have important data on your ipad, or you already have backup. find the guide in this forum.

-i once have the similar problem, what i do to fix it, is nothing, just wait until ipad ran out of battery, after it died, just recharge, and it start normally.

-so many tools out there to fix your ipad, find a website Edited by Moderator ~ do not advertise websites! ~, google it, you will get so many information there.

I could not save 4.3.3 SHSH blobs as 4.3.5 was already released. I'll try draining the battery - sounds interesting. I will also search as you suggested - thanks.

The same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I was stuck in recovery for 4 days and Tiny Umbrella would not fix it. When I had finally decided I had no choice but to upgrade to 4.3.5 I remembered something that had worked once on my old 3G.... I started the restore and then turn off my modem. iTunes sent a message saying there was no internet connection and it could not finish the restore and kicked it out of recovery.

I tried draining the battery. Got the charging icon. Still same issue. Tried latest TinyUm v5.00.11. Still same problem. I tried unplugging my Internet connection immediately after iTunes started to restore. The iPad 2 now quickly moves from the Apple icon to the USB/iTunes prompt when booted. Should I let iTunes restore for a while before unplugging my Internet connection? Thanks for your suggestions.

i cant give precise advice to your problems since you dont mention what you do/what happen to your ipad before the problem arose..

afaik when you restoring ipad with itunes and tinyumberella, you dont actually need an internet connection,
tiny umberella will make fool of itunes into thinking that cydia server, or your own computer as apple's server to sign your firmware with blobs, as if its from apple's server.

its good for you to disconnect internet when you affraid apple will upgrade your ipad with the latest useless firmware.

dont do anything when itunes and tinyumberella in its restoring process, wait until its finished.
hard reset is the final solution.

Unfortunately none of the suggestions worked. I restored using iTunes and I'm now on 4.3.5 :(. No jailbreak!

I now get "credit verification number is invalid" when accessing the AppsStore on my 64GB device. This is probably due to me using one ID for both my iPad 2's. Any suggestions?

Are you referring to the 3digit verication# on back of credit card that iTunes says is invalid?

I wasn't sure what it referred to. I backed up my 16GB iPad 2 then restored to my 64GB one again and that solved the problem. Thanks. Sorry, that part of my message was off the jailbreak topic - I thought it might have been related to my attempts to recover 4.3.3 and using 2 iPads with only one authorised. I have now authorised both iPads and all is well (except for losing my 4.3.3 jailbreak). I now also await the release of a new iPad 4.3.5 or IOS 5 jailbreak (as suggested at MyGreatFest yesterday).

I am currently running 4.3.5 and I am trying to restore back to 4.3.3 using redmondpie.com's directions. I have changes the hosts file and followed the directions to a t. When I go to restore to the 4.3.3 I get through the extracting software part on iTunes and then it stops and gives me an error code of 3194. I followed up on this through apple.com and I do believe it's related to trying to downgrade the firmware. Any workarounds out there? Anyone else have this problem?

I have an ipad2 yes. I downloaded the 4.3.3 through a link on redmondpie. I'm assuming that's what ur asking. I will check the link out. Does that answer the questions? Still a nood at the terminology. I'm an android transplant and knew all of that stuff, but the apple jailbreak is totally foreign to me. I do learn fast though!

i don't think you have shsh blobs saved for 4.3.3

and you can't download shsh blobs, you have to make your own, with a little help from tiny umbrella and sometimes cydia.

looks like you just downloaded the firmware 4.3.3, that is not shsh blobs....this is what you need to know about shsh blobs...http://www.ipadforums.net/ipad-hacking/24323-shsh-blobs-frequently-asked-questions-updated.html

instead of referencing another source, everything is located on this forum too, here is a head start.... http://www.ipadforums.net/ipad-hacking/
read mostly stickies.

Based on the information you have provided you cannot downgrade to 4.3.3 and jailbreak. Sorry. Read the first post again. Unless you save 4.3.3 blobs SEVERAL MONTHS AGO you are out of luck. There is no way around this process. It simply cannot be done. I appreciate it is difficult news to hear but you will just have to be patient and wait for an IOS5 jailbreak for iPad2.

Hey Guys,

New to the forum here. First off.. great work.. I have spent hours already reading through the various threads. You guys all know your stuff.

Here are the facts:

I recently purchased an ipad 2 in the hopes that it would have 4.3.3 installed.. no luck.. 4.3.5. So I don't have my blobs = downgrading is not an option. At this point i am waiting for iOS 5 but am wondering......

I have 1 week left where i can return the device for a full refund. I know that iOS 5 is supposed to come out on or after Oct 4th, however the iphone 5 wont be in consumers hands until oct 10-14th (just rough dates)

I bought the ipad 2 for jailbreak purposes. Mainly to use the CCK with ifile to use as external storage along with other cydia tweaks

Here is what i understand:

The dev guys wont release the jailbreak for the ipad 2 running iOS 5 until they have tested it on iphone 5 as it is rumored to have the A5 chip making it the same JB as the ipad 2. i know that they have found 5 userland exploits for the ipad 2 running iOS 5.

Here is my question:

Am I better to return the ipad 2 now and wait for the jailbreak to be released and then buy a new one, or just keep this one knowing that the iOS 5 Jb will be out soon? do i run the risk of irreversibly damaging my ipad 2 with a jailbreak where it would be nice to be able to return it to the store for a full refund if something went wrong during the process if i could?

I already used jailbreakme to JB my wifes ipad 2 and am hoping that the next solution for me will will be that simple. I also dont want to wait months for the JB for iOS 5 either but understand the devs need time to make sure it is perfect. I know that waiting is the only thing we can do.

any insight?

1) AFAIK, the Dev Team is waiting for iOS5 to be released, not the iPhone. Again, AFAIK, the reason why no one is talking about those 5 exploits is so that Apple doesn't have the opportunity to fix the software. It's just timing that the iPhone5 is coming out. The main focus [for the jailbreak(s)] is iOS5.

2) You can't "irreversibly damaging my ipad 2 with a jailbreak." At the worst, you muck up the jailbreak (by installing an incompatible tweak, for example) and you have to restore the iPad to stock. You'll simply have to put the most current firmware on the iPad. You really can't damage an iPad with a jailbreak.

Ultimately, it's entirely up to you, whether you wait or not. If the iPad is useless to you without a jailbreak, and you can't use it stock until a jailbreak is released, then maybe you should take it back. The key problem is - no one knows what's going to happen.

My suggestion is to use the iPad as is and wait. As a stock tablet - it's pretty darn cool! You'll be missing out on using one while you wait. Just my $.02 (USD).

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply.

I go agree that as tablets go the ipad is pretty cool. I am find more and more uses for it every day :)

I will sit tight with it and see what comes of Oct 4ths release.

Do you think that users will be able to update their devices to iOS 5 on the same day it is announced or do we have to wait for something else? I have never been this close to a new iOS before so this waiting process is all new to me.

thanks again!

Although it was only a year ago that Apple announced iOS 4.x, I really don't remember when we were able to download it. But, I should imagine that it'll be live shortly after any announcement. If it goes live, then go for it - download it and upgrade your iPad.

Keep in mind, however, that Apple is not saying anything about what's coming this Tuesday. We cannot assume iOS5 will be announced then.

I'm just trying to keep the rumors down to a dull roar...because no one here knows what Apple is doing...
